The Brijuni National Park is a group of fourteen islands located in the Fažana Channel northwest of Pula. The largest and the most famous are Veliki or Veli Brijun and Mali Brijun. Brijuni is a modern European resort, a place with forests and meadows surrounded by the glittering blue Adriatic. The architecture of Veliki Brijun was designed by Alois Zuffar, who developed the island by planting thousands of seedlings of trees, creating promenades and planting vineyards and olive trees. The island was the exclusive resort for members of the high society.
Today Brijuni is an attractive place for excursions and for rest offering accommodation in hotels and villas. Brijuni also offers sports activities such as golf, as well as educational, cultural and music programs, organization of weddings and congresses.
